| Lisa Gade reviews the Dell Venue 8 Pro Windows 8 tablet. This is an 8 inch full Windows 8.1 32 bit tablet with an Intel Atom Bay Trail quad core 1.33GHz Z3740D processor, 2 gigs of DDR3L RAM and 32 or 64 gigs of solid state storage. This has a fanless design and is similar in size and weight to Android 8" tablets and the iPad mini. It has a 1280 x 800 IPS display that looks sharp, dual band WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, a front 1.2MP camera and rear 5MP camera. It works with the optional Synaptics digital pen that sells for $30 (included in some bundles). It can run any Windows PC program that your laptop can, and it's compatible with Windows drivers for peripherals. MS Office 2013 Home and Student Edition is included. | My Dell Venue 8 Pro with a very quick test for Xcom Demo from Steam installed on a 32gb micro sd card, using bluetooth kb and mouse. All unneeded services stopped and with uefi optimisations enabled. Plus with xcom .ini file changes. The FULL game may actually run a little better perhaps? The mouse was a bit floaty, which may have been just my mouse, (windows settings on 6), but the bluetooth keyboard was fine and zippy. The demo was somewhat playable but ididnt get as far as combat with 7 fps in gameplay, 20-25fps forcutscenes generally.Recorded using an externalcamera as dxtory would have impacted performance no doubt.
